42mm shiny toy soldiers.
The French attack the British in a fight over a village and a bridge.
Things were going decidedly against the British, and we were about to give in, but eager dice rollers convinced us to play through till the end of the alloted time slot.
A sudden charge by the Gordons secured the bridge, and some inspired bayonet work by the Canadians threatened to turn the game in the final minutes. Alas the French cavalry drstroyed the Gordons and the canuks failed in their assault on the last building. Oh, Canada!
Journalist HG Wells inspired British units into acts of above average bravery, meanwhile a French spy kept stealing the General's orders.
The womens volunteer bicycle regiment fought bravely before being forced from their defences by greasy mustachioed thugs.
