Lord of the Feathers

We tried a game of Lord of the Rings using Flint and Feather as the rules.  They work very well with minor adaptation.
In this 3 player game, Howard controlled a band of Fellowship heroes (Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli) and Dan had a group of Rohirrim (King Theoden, Eowen and some warriors) while I had the forces of evil!.

Each of them had 2 hobbits (count as striplings) that they had to get off the other side of the table.  Along the way there were markers that would be diced off to see if they were evil or good reinforcements.
The first random marker was a group of Rangers.

A group of Uruk Hai is diced for at the bridge.
A group of elves shows up to help the Rohirrim.
Howard's fellowship wipes out a group of Uruk Hai scouts.

The forces of evil block the bridge.
After a fierce fight, the wargs are sent fleeing back over the bridge, chased by Theoden.

King Theoden clears the way,  the hobbits get to safety across the river.

  2. Boo! The forces of Evil were under powered, not even a Forest Troll!
