No Refunds!

A funny thing happened on the way to the trading post.
Language is such a subtle thing.  Fire water vs holy water.  Who knew the natives would be so upset?
A game of Flint and Feather.  The Indian brothers attack a French trading post.
The Indians approach at a walk.  Perhaps they're here to trade?  The unfinished palisade is not much of a defense.
With a warcry  the warband of Matticacus charges the trade post.  Firelocks discharge from the defenders.  1 ball drops a companion in spectacular fashion.

The rest of the band gets around the shack, killing the leader of the French Indian allies, which scares the other one off.  The French Capitan, Chateu D'Blanc, fires off both pistols but they only tear off an eagle feather from Chief Matticacus.
On the other flank,  his brother, chief Flinnimungo, attacks, killing the french trappers, capturing one.
Capitan Chateaux D'Blanc manages to jump back from the Indian onslaught and retreats to the blockhouse with a wounded trapper.
The warband can't find a quick way in.  They loot what they can from the fallen combatants.

On the other side, the remaining Indian allies are trapped in a hut, but after a bold charge, leap over one of Flinnimungos warriors and flee into the woods.

Crawl out thru the Fallout

My brother and I managed to get a game of Fallout Wasteland Warfare on the table.
Fresh out of the vault, Nora meets Dogmeat and some settlers in Sanctuary Hills.   They tell her of some super mutants at the nearby Red Rocket giving them problems.  There is also a suit of T45 power armor on the rack there.  Now if they could only find a fusion core....
Survivors come in from the right side.
Dogmeat!
A rusty suit of power armor is the objective.
Nora and Tech.

Sniper finds a power core on the billboard.

Mutant hound detects the intruders and charges in, wounding the scavenger.   Dogmeat charges in a kills the mutant hound.
The sniper passes the power core off to the scavenger.
The super mutant boss (Aviator)  shoots it out with Nora and the tech.

The other mutant hound charges Nora.  Nora is gravely wounded.
Dogmeat charges to the rescue!  Nora eats the uncooked mutant hound meat.  She takes a rad hit but is back in the fight.
The tech gets into a flank position and drops the aviator with a shotgun blast.
The scavenger makes it to the power armor and suits up.
The super mutant brute attacks and manages to take down the scavenger, despite his metal suit.
Victory is short lived as Nora plugs him in the back with her 10mm pistol in the next activation.
Despite losing 2 people, the survivors manage to clear the Red Rocket of mutants and recover the power armor.

1st time i played Fallout Wasteland Warfare.  We had to look a lot of things up, although the production value is high,  the game has a lot of detail and is a bit clunky.  It was fun though, and captured the Fallout4 feel.

A trip up the West Side

My brother came to town, so I took him on a quick tour of the western side of the historic Hudson river.
First stop was the battlefield at Stony Point.  Once overrun by British, then rebels, now chipmunks.
Then Fort Montgomery (I missed the turn off for Ft. Clinton) and finally the museum at West Point.
View of bear mountain bridge from fort Montgomery.
I knew the Rolling Stones have been around a while but....

West point museum.   I thought this was made up for the game Paranoia!
