Gurps: Against Malingra in Winnipeg
Excerpt from the memoirs of Burhy ibn Qat'ma Al-Ma, Chapter 116 "The Perils of Winnipeg":
...and so we returned to the town of Winnipeg, having made a good showing in battle against the vile Insect-Men, whom I have already described in an earlier tale which I would caution ladies, children, and the more sensitive of clerics against reading, for such is the terror contained therein! (Available from any purveyor of fine literature.) Our humble party decided to sup with the Wight Lady, a most cunning woman who had proven a good guide to us in our adventures. However, our way was blocked by a scuffle between the local militia and a mob of commoners. Seeing an opportunity to spread the enlightenment of our fair city, I negotiated a peaceful resolution to the dispute, and swore to bring the grievance to light with their queen. It seemed that an innocent man had died in the custody of the militia, an esteemed eastern metal smith of great repute.
While I at first believed this to be a heavy-handed act to keep the commons in line (something utterly unnecessary in Bagdehara), on further investigation we discovered it to be the work of Malingra, the foul demoness who had dogged our steps since the Adventure of the Pagan Temple. Malingra had already slain an innocent worker repairing our ship as well, and then horror of horrors, captured several of our companions and bound them up Gods-Know Where! Surely this could not stand!
So it was that we hatched a cunning plan to drive off the beast once and for all. Though Master Cole, a rough swordsman who's description I have already related, was offered a tempting deal by the demoness, we resolved to seek the aid of Bishop Gregory of Ebon Rock, a holy man in charge of a remote monastery. Journeying to this island off the coast of Winnipeg, we found the Bishop welcoming but strange. Like the Priests of Nooma the Sea Goddess, his healing powers seemed tied to the land. It was as if he drained himself to heal his supplicants, and was often in an addled and confused state. Despite his demands we convert to the misguided faith of Arkhen, we were able to convince him to aid us in the destruction of Malingra. Cole would be the bait, while Ama the serving girl would lure the demon in, then the affectionately named "Aunt Bunny" and myself would rush in upon the creature and hold it in play until the Bishop's power could be invoked to banish the beast forever with the aid of a rock called an 'Elder Sign'.
Our plan seemed solid, but to our dismay the Demon arrived with scores of winged servants in tow. Still, we held true to our cunning scheme. The temple's magic statues and animated suits of armor came to life, and we marshaled all our forces against the vile Malingra. Thanks to the great power of the Gods, who's one representative on earth is the God-King, I was able to rush in upon the beast. I hacked apart its winged minions, striking them away like a great reaping wind before at last coming upon Malingra herself. Allies at my side, we smote her heartily, and my most excellent spinning blade did carve upon the creature's flesh with a fury like lightning! (Spinning Blade available soon at any good arms stall from the House of Qatma.)
The demon did strike back upon me, crashing it's claws into my breastplate, and wounding me most sore. However, I shed my blood most gladly, for together my companions and I were able to keep Malingra within a magically ensorceled chamber long enough for the Bishop's magic to be used. Truly the Gods did work through that humble primitive, for before Malingra could rip my head from my shoulders, she stopped and let out a piteous howl that shook my very soul! Then the demon slowly faded into the air, leaving behind no trace that she had ever stalked our fair land.

We celebrated victory and vengeance for those slain, and thanks to my hearty companions and my manservant Rin I was soon in good health again. Having favorably inspired the folk of Winnipeg with the civilized ways of Bagdehara, we set sail once more in our newly repaired ship. And so it was that we headed out to the sea, and on the way to fair Lydia...

The Sea Ghosts narrow escape
Saturday afternoon events on the Sea Ghost and at Winnipeg
There was a scramble with the Krall vessel.
The Sea ghost floundered in the becalmed waters as the mages created a storm to provide wind for our sails.
The Ghost took significant damage and many heroic efforts at leadership an seamanship ensued.
Finally, the ship caught wind and with Numa blessings, escaped the enemy ship.
The adventurers used powder to determine that the demon was in guise of Whaler 2 who had fallen behind on the island.
The demon negotiated for a carnal interlude with Heir Heidi, but Ama took this offer to the Lady who understandably and haughtily declined to risk a single strand of her own fair hair.
Ama, honestly agreed that was for the best, though did honor her agreement to bring the offer in good faith.
By then, the intrepid ragtag PCs had placed demon B'gone powder at the doors and the demon was angered and blew through the portal in the side of the ship causing more damage and causing us to put to port.
At this time, the party is proceeding to try to eradicate the demon from the Port of Winnepeg and has consulted a fellow named Chef who recommended we seek a man named Imp by casting a rotten apple down the well on the Lower East Side of town. At which time, we would seek an audience with his dark mistress. His mistress would be interested in a powerful relic that the monastery was built around. It is an Elder Sign, we are told. With this relic, she could destroy our demon. The relic would be hers to keep, however.
Burhy and Ama have sought an audience with the Queen to inform her about the threat of the krall fleet and the demon infestation. The Queen is less than happy about our arrival.
The Queen informed us that the family crypt had been cursed and she was wanting to lay her nephew to rest before he decomposed further. We were told that the bishop, Father Gregory, who would normally deal with such things had been withdrawn and unfriendly of late.
Brother Bitch was of no help getting us to the bishop. We tried to make for his island but it was surrounded by a powerful ward. So we gave up and decided to pitch the rotting apple down the very sketchy old well.
Imp showed up and tried to sell us some questionable wares. He gifted Ama with some Deathtouch eggs named from some watership down bunny. We were introduced to his mistress the White Lady. She was an incredible cook. Ama was nervous about eating her food but did accept a recipe book.
The white lady said we could remove the curse by killing the monsters there but we would need impaling weapons and we would have to get the gravekeeper to open the door as it would whither our limbs if we tried. She wanted ettercap eggs for her healing potions.
The gravekeeper used a corpse hand to open the crypt. The party went inside and killed a mess of ettercaps.
Waiting to see if the queen will now help us with our demon issues

Voyage of the Sea Ghost part 3 (Gurps)
Cole's recap: OK, so, we got that guy Queequeg out of lockup, and explained some stuff about how the baddies hijacked magic in the temple so that it worked for them where it shouldn't. Somebody was hurt (Barry I think) and so the guy SPITS IN HIS MOUTH. He got all his HP back and got the extra as temp HP as if this was D&D or something, but ew. Anyway, we get that big door open over where we killed that big asshole, and it goes outside to this huge 500 yrd bridge with a 2000 ft drop that goes over to a temple and shit. We cross over, glad I'm not scared of heights like that slob Pete who makes my rolls for me, and on the other side we see a huge temple getting de-dismantled, a bunch of those jolly hi-ho workers, like, a lot of them, actually, 2 of those baddogs and two more big assholes! They all come at us, but lots of fighting later we were pretty much winning, except for Ama, who got hit in the leg pretty bad with this chain, but somehow she got healed up from that which is good cause that looked pretty bad from what I could see, and also Barry's nose which lost an argument with a big axe (which I have packed away with my stuff- the axe, not the nose :)...) Anyway, I think Queequeg died once but got better, also he cried a lot, dunno why, and then we tried to get inside the temple cause the two big assholes retreated back into it, and there was a huge swirly thing in the floor, looked like a extra-dimensional toilet or something, and beyond that was a big, big, dragon/tentacle face worm thing which luckily we didn't attack but instead freed and it turned into a high priestess. Here's the part I think you wanted to know about, cause those two assholes stepped out of hiding to try and fuck us up- one had a bomb-throwee thing, and the other had his chainsaw shortsword out. They got the drop on Barry, who was about to free the big thing, but Captain Montague, aided by a portent roll of 7 I think, SHOT THE FUCKING THING OUT OF THE AIR while the asshole was throwing it, so it blew up in their fucking faces! Barry stepped up and cut down the shortsword guy, and the last decided to go all predator and pull out a last bomb. Anyway all of us got away from that damage free, and both those assholes are dead, which is good because they fucking had that coming. Anyway the girl high priestess told the Captain to back off when he immediately started hitting on her, used all this wacky healing magic, Bunny gave her this thing she's been carrying around, some magic shit or some other, and she used it to close the swirly-toilet in the floor. Also she made the happy helmet helpers spit out all their implants and get healed. Quequeeg looked like he was gonna keel over but she wouldn't let him, and then she made us all go down to their village for dinner and shit, except I don't remember that part because we were all busy looting the temple! The way back to the ship was nice and clear (the first chamber that was flooded got emptied out due to happy magic), and when we got to the ship, everyone we left on board was still alive because that fucking glabrezu didn't find them. SO that was ok, and we got the fuck outta there. PS everyone's point value dropped by 30 cause we have that demon looking to fuck us.
Another glorious day in the corps!
